PENGARUH AKUPRESSURE TERHADAP KUALITAS TIDUR PENDERITA PENYAKIT KRONIS: A LITERATUR REVIEW

Penyakit kronis merupakan masalah kesehatan global yang sering disertai gangguan tidur, yang pada akhirnya memperburuk kualitas hidup pasien. Terapi farmakologis memiliki keterbatasan karena risiko efek samping dan ketergantungan, sehingga diperlukan intervensi non-farmakologis seperti akupresur. Studi ini bertujuan meninjau efek akupresur terhadap kualitas tidur pada pasien dengan penyakit kronis melalui metode literature review. Pencarian artikel dilakukan pada database PubMed, Science Direct, dan EBSCO dengan kata kunci “Sleep Quality”, “Acupressure” AND “Chronic disease” OR “Chronic illness” untuk publikasi tahun 2020–2025. Dari 1.859 artikel yang teridentifikasi, diperoleh 7 artikel sesuai kriteria inklusi. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa akupresur efektif meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada berbagai kondisi kronis, seperti kanker, gagal ginjal, diabetes melitus, osteoartritis, persistent spinal pain syndrome, serta leukemia. Mekanisme yang mendasari meliputi stimulasi saraf somatosensorik, peningkatan pelepasan endorfin, serotonin, dan melatonin, serta penurunan kortisol yang berhubungan dengan stres. Akupresur juga membantu menyeimbangkan sistem saraf otonom sehingga tercapai relaksasi dan tidur yang lebih restoratif. Kesimpulannya, akupresur merupakan terapi komplementer non-invasif yang aman, efektif, dan dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam praktik keperawatan untuk mengatasi gangguan tidur pada pasien dengan penyakit kronis.
